REFLECTING.

This video marks my first attempt at creating a video using masked transitions, during which I paid considerable attention to the seamless progression between individual clips. Furthermore, I created this during 2021, when we were still encouraged to stay inside. I used this video to transport back to 2019, when the idea of a quarantine had never even crossed my mind.

SILENT SPRING.

“Silent Spring”, is an interactive art work I made that is activated through “biocides” (water). The town gets destroyed and washes away. This work is inspired by the town in Rachel Carson’s fable, chapter 1 of Silent Spring. She argues that pesticides should be called biocides because they kill more than what is intended. The biocides are the mysterious thing that swept across the town and ruined it. A quote that stuck with me from the chapter was “the people had done it to themselves”.
