ABOUT ME

Cyanoytpe self portrait, 2024

We have mastered overconsumption, but have we figured out how to deal with all the leftovers yet?

I, Vivien, am a Paris-based multidisciplinary artist, and my work is driven by the pressing realities of climate change. I explore themes of overconsumption, waste, and the impermanence of nature through time-consuming processes such as cyanotype and collage. By working with pre-owned and already-available materials, I challenge the fast-paced cycle of consumption and disposal, highlighting the value of slowing down and giving new life to what we might otherwise throw away.

Growing up in Switzerland shaped my admiration for the natural landscapes and the ecosystems they contain. But as environmental crises accelerate, I’m increasingly aware that those who suffer the most from climate change are often the ones who have contributed least to causing it. Ultimately, I seek to provoke reflection on how we interact with the world around us, encouraging a deeper awareness of the impermanence of everything we hold dear.
