Logo Design

My process of creating a logo.

Prompt: Design a logo based on your initials

My initials: VCH

Step 1: Initial stageSketching out several ideas and modifying each to push myself

Step 2: Developing my favorite ideas

I created these logos in Adobe illustrator to see how they could be brought to life digitally

Step 3: Sharing my logos and asking for feedback

With the help of my peers and professor I decided to go forward with the following logo:

Step 4: Adjusting the logo and trying different colorsI created the logo in three colors. Black, white and a blue because these all felt true to my website at the time that I created the logo.

Step 5: Applying the logo in a design

As an exercise we were asked to apply our design in any context. So I decided to add mine onto a ski pass. My favorite iteration was the sevond one I created.

What did I learn?

-> I really enjoyed sketching out what felt like, hundreds of ideas. It felt like I left no stone unturned. In the future I would od something similar again.
-> I found it challenging to choose one design, so it was helpful to ask peers for advice and constructive criticism.
-> I wish I would have been better at organizing my files back then, because I can no longer find these ski pass mock ups. Thankfully I do still have the logos though. However I think staiyng organized in a project like this with many iterations is what's uper important.
